FlyMeister 2001 revived

Back in April I revived the old pages from the FlyMeister 2001 competition that was held by GFF. I just forgot to tell about it!

Many, many (like MANY) years ago, the Global FlyFisher arranged a fly tying competition, which invited people from all over the world to participate.
We announced the competition sometime during 2001, got in a bunch of flies and selected the winners at that year's International Flytying Symposium, which took place in New Jersey.

I was there together with Bob Petti and Steve Schweitzer, and we managed to get a hold of the judges and have them evaluate the flies and select the winners.

The prizes were quite decent and the whole thing was fun to do, but quite a bit of work as well as a lot of logistics. Mailing in flies and mailing out prizes was somewhat a job - and actually quite expensive.

But for historical reasons - and because I hate to see things disappear from GFF - I have ressurected the old pages, which have been online in a special section since April.
I just forgot to tell people about it!
That's been done now.
Enjoy!

The GFF money box

… I have a small favor to ask.

Long story short

Support the Global FlyFisher through several different channels, including PayPal.

Long story longer

The Global FlyFisher has been online since the mid-90's and has been free to access for everybody since day one – and will stay free for as long as I run it.
But that doesn't mean that it's free to run.
It costs money to drive a large site like this.
